Keeping up with Life, but lagging behind

A stitch in time

Thiess really hates it when I'm punny.

But a few weeks ago our family had it's first set of stitches.
Page was pushed down in nursery and she hit the door frame and popped her eyebrow open. It was a pretty traumatic experience for me and for her. It was really glad that Diessen was there to handle the situation especially when the Dr. was trying to get the stitch in. Page was a trooper. I don't know why even decided to get it stitched because by Wednesday she had pulled it out. Crazy girl. It has healed up pretty well but I'm sure she'll have a little scar, but that's ok cause she will just match her me. Well you ask her now "where is the ouchie" she points to her eye.

Halloween

So I'm alittle behind. Here are the kids in there Halloween costumes. Page loved being Nemo. She walked around saying "me Nemo,me Nemo". I was able to take of some time from work and attend Diessen's preschool Halloween Party. He was so excited. We went to GR for Halloween and it was really fun to trick or treat in my old neighborhood. It sure brought back alot of memories. I never remembered it being so warm on Halloween in Wyoming. It was a beautiful night with no wind. We weren't even wearing coats. We went to the trunk or treat at the stake center and visited the convalescent center where I ran into my old elementary music teacher. Surprisingly she remembered me, I must have made an impression on her.

The Pumpkin Walk and pumpkin carving

We started out our Halloween Festivities by going to the pumpkin walk at the mill. We had a good time, Diessen had went earlier in the day with a friend and all he kept talking about was how he wanted to ride the bull. I was thinking that maybe it was a mechanical bull and we didn't have any cash to pay for him to ride it. I started to worry that he would make a scene because we didn't have money. Well when we got there he found his bull and he was very excited and it was FREE! It was fun to see all the fun pumpkins from around our community. The next day we carved pumpkins. It was really fun to carve pumpkins from our garden. We had a aThomas the tank engine, a U of U pumpkin, an owl, and a scooby doo.

Utah State Fair

Thanks to my wonderful sister who sent me her SD card reader I can upload come pictures. we have made it a tradition in our family to go to the Utah State Fair every year. It has also become a tradition for Thiess to take Diessen down the big yellow slide. I love the fair, I really would like to know how you become a food tester there. The kids really enjoyed visiting all the animals. Who knew that sheep smelled so BAD!!
FFA has a great exhibit that is for kids that the kids loved. We had a lot of fun.

Lagoon

I haven't been to Lagoon for years mostly because I'm a little afraid that I am going to die on one of the rides, but this year I went with my parents and Rob. I really think that Lagoon is more fun as a parent then it ever was as a child. Page was more timid but she started to get the hang of it by the time we left. I loved watching my kids having so much fun. Diessen was so brave and wanted to ride every ride and he wasn't tall enough to. He was very upset that he couldn't ride the bat. I really thought Diessen would be sick by the end of the day. Uncle Rob was such a great uncle to ride so many rides with his nephew. I'm glad he didn't think that it wasn't too uncool. We only had one casuality, we lost our monkey leash.

New business

As if I'm not busy enough with my other 2 jobs, I've decided to go into a business with my mother in law selling cute girlie stuff. We have a website it is: www.ribbonsandknots.com but I don't have it completely finished yet. So until then if you are interesting in doing a party or ordering anything just call me.

Just your friendly neighborhood....

SNAKE! I few days before i found our friend snake, my neighbor had called to see if Thiess was home to kill one in her yard. We had been working in the yard all day tearing out weeds from the parking strip and after many trips back a forth from the truck, he popped up out of nowhere. It some what scared me but when I realized it wasn't a rattlesnake I was fine. I ran inside to get my camera and yell at Thiess (he was in the shower and when he came out the snake was gone). I wanted him dead, but then I realized he has probably been eating all of the voles that have been eating up my garden.

Summer catch up

We have been very busy this summer. Here are some pics of what has kept us busy.
We started off our summer with Thiess playing in the summer games with some high school friends. They took 3rd place. Thiess took second place in the three point contest and free throw contest. We have spent many days out in our pool. We had a week that it wouldn't stop raining so we played out in the rain, Diessen and Page love their rain boots. Diessen got a new bike and has almost ridden the wheels off of it. Rio Tinto Kennecott had a company party at Rio Tinto Real Stadium, Diessen played in a soccer skills challenge and we watched Bolt on the jumbo-tron. We also have visited Grandma Dorothy in Laramie and spent a few days in Wheatland at grandma's house.Uncle Rob stayed with us for s few days and we went to the Aquarium.

Mother's day weekend (Beware picture overload)

The weekend of mother's day my whole family was here for various events. One night we went to a wedding reception at the state capital . I had never been there before. Diessen loved running around everywhere, he probably saw more of it than he was supposed too. The next day we all went to the temple and then had a picnic at the park. The kids had so much fun playing at the park and feeding the ducks.
