Saturday at the Supercross

Ryan Dungey (who took the championship in the West Coast lights series the night we were there)

Jeff Alessi

We have been waiting months for the Supercross here in Salt Lake. We went to it the last time it was here in 2004 so we were excited that it was back. We weren't excited to the 40 degree weather that came with Saturday. The sad thing is it was 75 degrees the day before. Are we terrible parents for taking our kids out in the rain just to see the riders?

Thiess has a cousin that races pro and Thiess' brother in Cali is friends with some of the riders. We took lots of pictures and got some autographs. Diessen loves motorcycles, I don't know how much I love him loving motorcycles, but I guess I will have to deal. The other day he asked his grandpa Bart if he could buy him one. Here are some pics from Sat. Thanks to aunt Sel's very nice camera.

Thiess' cousin on the starting line

We took the kids home for the races. Idon't think they would have sat through it.

Thiess wanted to get a picture with this bike and their was a skantley clad model with the bike she walked over to get in the picture and Thiess had to tell her he didn't want a picture with her just the bike. It was funny

Our Rock Band

Diessen's grandparents bought him a guitar and drums for his first birthday. I don't think the idea behind the gift was to make him a musical prodigy, but to buy the loudest toys ever. Today we had one of our many (noisy) concerts, this is our first concert with Page. She likes the drums. Thiess is singing vocals. Usually Diessen sings, but this time he wanted dad. Also, I'm having way too much fun learning how to use my video maker on my computer.

What Diessen wanted to do

On Tuesday night I was driving to the MX track to watch Thiess ride and we passed the swimming pool that we went to alot last summer, well Diessen wanted to go "sweeeming" in his "new queen suit". I told him it wasn't open and he was quite upset. So on Wednesday I found his little pool and blew it up and let him not so much swim in it, but lounge. He was so content. When he was finished he told me he wanted to take a nap. I was shocked (he never says that). I took him up to his room and he said he wanted to take a nap in his pool. Crazy kid!!! oh yeah, the water from the hose was too cold so I made numerous trips inside to fill up my biggest bowl with hot water.

Also, I wanted to post my first tulip!!! I planted tulips in Feb. this is the first one that came up. I'm so happy we have a yard this summer. It is so great!!!

Mousey situation

So today I had to run to the post office (only about 5 minutes away), as I was driving home a little mouse poked it's head up from between my car hood the windshield (thank goodness it wasn't inside the car, there would have been an accident on the inside and the outside of the car). At first I thought it was a leaf until it started to move across my windshield. I wasn't going very fast because I was winding through a residential area and I'm suprised very surprised that I didn't wreck as I was watching this mouse crawl around. It quickly disappeared back under my hood before it occured to me to turn the wipers on to try to wipe it from my windshield. I was really amazed I wished I had my camera. Probably something that will never happen again. When I got home I told Thiess and we popped the hood, we couldn't see any wires that had been chewed on or signs of a mouse living under the hood of the car. So I don't know where I picked up the little stow away.

Sweet's candy factory and lunch with Dad

On Tuesday we went to the Sweet's Candy Factory with the neighborhood playgroup. It was very interesting. I'm not sure how interested the kids were but I felt like on was in an episode of Unwrapped(Food Network if anyone doesn't know). We all got to wear our very special candy hats. We got to try all sorts of candy off fresh off the line. My favorite room was the chocolate room. HMMM chocolate. I felt like I was Willy Wonka.
After we met Thiess at Copperton Park near his office and had lunch. It was such a beautiful day. Page enjoyed her first experince in a swing alot. Copperton Park is a great park. If you haven't taken your kids there, you should, not alot of people and lots of cool stuff to play on.

Spring is finally here!!

Diessen and Page recieved this cool roller coaster at Christmas from their Grandparents. wIt has been in a box in the basement all winter and Diessen has begged us everyday since it has started to warm to put it together.
We are thinking that it won't snow again so we put it together the other night. Diessen loves it!! Some of the neighbor kids have also tried it out. We've spent alot of time outside this week (when it wasn't snowing or raining)

Princess Page

Sorry about the flash in the mirror and half of me and the camera. This ia Page right out of the tub. With her new princess towel.
